Walter George Thomason (6-13-11)

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - Walter George Thomason, 71, husband of Helen Marie Thomason, of Summerville, S.C. died on Monday, June 13, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, June 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m.

Mr. Thomason was born October 13, 1939 in Ila, a son of Joe Thomason and Lauara Fitzpatrick Thomason. He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired boiler operator at Charleston Air Force Base. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jedburg.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie Thomason of Summerville; three sons, Michael W. Thomason and wife Melissa of Summerville, Brian K. Thomason of Ladson, and Randall S. Thomason and wife Brenda of Summerville; two sisters, Eva Craft of Georgia, and Geraldine Allen and husband Jewel of North Carolina.; five brothers, Jack Thomason and wife Louise, Caiphas Thomason and wife Jacky, Aubrey Thomason and wife Anna, and Kenneth Thomason and wife Irene, all of Georgia, and Doris Thomason and wife Jackie of Tennessee; five grandsons, Christopher Thomason and wife Kristen, Thorne Thomason, Zackery Thomason and wife Jennifer, Trevor Thomason, and Talon Thomason; one granddaughter, Tinsley Thomason, and five great-grandchildren, Madilyn Thomason, Ethan Marlowe, Taylor Thomason, Isabella Thomason, and Mason Thomason. Mr. Thomason was predeceased by one brother Winifred Thomason and two sisters, Candis Thomason and Laura “Boo” Berryman.
