Marthie Bell Pressley (6-10-11)

BUCKHEAD – Marthie Bell Pressley, 87, died Friday, June 10, 2011.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lizzy Worley Hix. She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith. Mrs. Pressley was preceded in death by her husband, Howell Pressley, daughter, Barbara Nash and seven grandchildren.

Survivors include children, Linda Shelton, Madison; Sybil Simpson, Gainesville; Virginia Simpson, Commerce; Gene Pressley, Gainesville; Jo Gibbs, Pendergrass; Melvin Pressley and Glenn Pressley, both of Eatonton; Beckie McDaniel and Jackie McDaniel, both of Morgan County; Sue Wilson, Buckhead; Rosie McDaniel, Morgan County; sisters, Mattie Pressley, Hall County; Elizabeth Beardon, Cherokee County; 36 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, at the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Louis Gaddis and Bill Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Revival Baptist Church cemetery with James McDaniel, Melvin Pressley Jr., Donald McDaniel, David McDaniel, Edward McDaniel, Adam McDaniel, Lewis McDaniel and Lonnie McDaniel Jr. honored as pallbearers.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements
