Bertha Crowell (6-9-11)

COMER - Bertha Crowell, 87, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Cobb Health Care Center. Born and raised on a dairy farm in southern New Jersey, “Cricket” was the only child of the late Leon and Clara Fralinger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Crowell.

After retiring from over 30 years as a registered nurse in New Jersey, Mrs. Crowell moved to North Carolina, where she continued to work in the health care field until past her 80th birthday. She moved to Georgia in 2004 to be near family.

Mrs. Crowell is survived by her daughter, Carol Barnes, of Madison County, and her daughter Sherry, of Mt. Shasta, California. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brian and Scott Barnes, and Jessica and Christopher Ballou.

At her request, there will be no services held. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, EAST will handle arrangements, and interment will be in New Jersey.
