CARLTON – George Neal Callaway Jr., 56, died Friday, June 10, 2011, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Athens on March 5, 1955, he was the son of George Neal Callaway Sr. and Betty Lou Ginn Callaway. He was a polisher in the granite industry. Mr. Callaway was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Louise Guest Callaway.
Survivors include his children, Jeremy Neal Callaway and Eric Thomas Callaway, both of Elberton, and Kelly Debra Callaway, Carlton; siblings and their spouses, June and George Parker, Liberty, S.C., Loyd and Deborah Callaway and Tim Callaway, all of Comer; Joan and Neal Doster, Carlton, and Jean and Terry Autry, Comer; and two grandchildren, Alyssa Brook Callaway and Natli Debra Villegas.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 12, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Ken Callaway and William Anglin officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, was in charge of arrangements.
