WINDER – Edweaner B. Cheeley, 86, died Monday, June 6, 2011.
Born in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Effie Ray Bennett. She was a member of the New Pentecost Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, Winder 336, where she had served as past worthy matron, a member of The Winder American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Historical Society. Mrs. Cheeley was preceded in death by her husband, Bomar Robert Cheeley.
Survivors include a son, Robert Cheeley, Winder; daughter, Jennifer Cheeley, Winder; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Jullian Bennett, Locust Grove; and sisters, Margurite Austin and Ella Banks, both of Winder.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8, at 2 p.m., from Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. Billy Pittman and Mike McLemore officiating. Burial will be in the New Pentecost Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Pentecost Methodist Church Fund or Cemetery Fund, c/o Pat Mays, 832 Whispering Pine Rd., Winder, GA 30680.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
