COLBERT - Oliver Brantley Carter, husband of the late Elizabeth Ann ╥Betty╙ Carter, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
Born in Winterville, he was the son of the late Brantley Allen and Ina Bell Morris Carter. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years. Pursuant to his military career he worked with the US Postal Service. He was a member of the American Legion and Anchor Bible Church, Hull.
Survivors include his five daughters, Maureen Carter (George Ogden) Persons, Macon, Sr. Theresa Ann Carter, R.S.M., Baltimore, Md., Trish Carter, Dunwoody, Kathleen Carter (Michael) Eckard, Suwanee, Brenda Carter (Michael) Adams, Woodstock; sister: Ina Mae Meadow, Colbert; brothers, Henry Elmo Carter and Homer Lee Carter, both of Colbert; grandchildren, Christopher Kyle Graves, Kathleen Clair Graves, Patrick Benton Graves, Mary Katherine Persons, Hali Elizabeth Eckard, Michael Ryan Eckard, Maggi Taylor Adams, Jonathan Michael Adams; and great-grandchildren, Austin Michael Adams and Jonathan Cade Adams.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 4, at Lord & Stephens Madison Chapel with the Rev. Barry Black officiating.╩ Burial was private.
