HOMER - Roland Douglas Hill, 77, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Northridge Medical Center.
Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late John C. Hill Sr. and Ethel Gillespie Hill. Mr. Hill was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, American Legion, and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was retired from the Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma J. Perdue Hill, Homer; son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Doreen Hill, Commerce; three granddaughters, Emily, Maggie, and Callie Hill, all of Commerce; and a brother-in-law, Scottie Rohwer, Spokane, Wash.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 3, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Phil Ferguson and Don McLain officiating. Burial will be at the Hill Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night, June 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
