Victoria Parr (5-21-11)

COMMERCE – Victoria W. Parr, 59, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at her residence following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

She was the daughter of Frances Wheless of Commerce. She was preceded in death by a sister, Phoebie Henderson.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Lewis Parr, Commerce; daughters, Dee (Tim) Nicholson and Katie Victoria Parr, all of Commerce, Melissa (Michael) Patton, Jefferson; brother, Randy Wheless, Commerce; a sister, Sally White, Mt. Airy; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 4 p.m., from the New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Albert Vaughn and Paul Youngblood officiating.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
