Rita Y. Grant, 88, of Gillsville, died Monday, August 11, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a short illness.
She was born in New York, the daughter of the late William and Margaret Butler Yorston. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was retired from real estate sales. Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Lynn Grant.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Grant, Gillsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Maggie and Tom Burns, Monterey, Calif., Inez Grant and Bill O’Entremont, Gillsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Grant Jr. and Maureen, Davie, Florida, Russell and Ellyn Grant, Vero Beach, Fla.; grandson, Samuel, Gillsville; granddaughters, Kristin and Marissa, both of Juniper, Fla., and Lauren, Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Carter and Hayden; brother, Howard Yorston, Houston, Texas; nieces, Carla Shreve, Galt, Calif., and Michelle Goffin, Palm Springs, Calif; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Fabio Sotelo officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, at the funeral home.
