OCALA, FLA. – Dorothy Louise Wood Towe Harper, 66, formerly of Commerce, died Monday, May 9, 2011.
Born on May 2, 1945, she was the daughter of Luther and Vera Youngblood Wood. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Harper McDonald, Ocala, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Helen Wood Quarles, Watkinsville.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Towe Leuck, Melbourne, Fla., and Donna Harper Castaneda, Ocala, Fla.; son-in-law, Javier; eight grandchildren, Robert, Nicholas, Anthony, Brian, Teddy, Lauven, Catherine and Shelly; one great-grandson, Riley; brothers and sisters, Luther and Karen Wood, Colbert, Stanley and Cindy Wood, Nicholson, Thomas and Charmaine Wood and Patricia Wood, all of Hull, Shelia Herring, Danielsville, Marie and Bill Carson, Commerce.
Known as “Dottie” to her Florida friends, she delighted in working with neighbor and good friend, Lizzie Paris, in their combined flower garden.
Dorothy chose cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
