ILA - Samuel Darrell Coile, 67, husband of Hythen Adams Coile, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the St. Mary’s Hospice House.
Born in Colbert, he was the son of the late Sam W. and Minnie Akin Coile. He was retired from Georgia Natural Gas Company as a Distribution Supervisor, served his country in the United States Army Reserves for 20 years, was a volunteer fireman at the Ila Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of Union Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Hythen, include two children and their spouses, Michael and Sonia Coile, Jill and Kevin Porterfield; sisters, Carol Fields, Linda Barner, Sandra Hudson; and three grandchildren; McKenna Coile, Hayden Coile and Sam Porterfield.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Owensby, Ben Smith and Huey Bratton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Madison Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
