THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Annie Kincaid Barbee, 87, a resident of Alston Brook Nursing Home died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, in Randolph Hospice Home.
Born on May 19, 1923, in Colbert, she was the daughter of the late Robert Kincaid and Anna Loftis Kincaid. She was retired from Duracell Battery Inc. in Lexington and was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church. She was married May 1, 1942 to Everett “Bill” Lee Barbee Sr., who preceded her in death May 11, 1978. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Verda Mae Bray and one brother, Issum Kincaid.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Alice Barbee and Bill Ervin, Colfax N.C., son and daughter-in-law, Everett Barbee Jr. and Linda Barbee, Lexington, N.C.; sister, Rachael Fortson and husband Ed, Danburg, Ga.; brother, Bobby Kincaid and wife Bonnie, Colbert; three grandchildren, Billy Ervin, High Point, N.C., Derick Kennedy, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jennifer Barbee Swift and husband, Ken, Thomasville, N.C.; two great-granddaughters, Holly Gable and Shelby Kennedy; three great-great-granddaughters, Zaylah Majett, Lillianna Morales and Olivia Duncan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14, in the chapel of J.C. Green & Sons, Inc., with the Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of the granddaughter, 301 Bethlehem Ave., Thomasville, N.C.
