COMER – Allene Pendleton, 74, died Friday, May 6, 2011.
A native of Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Allen Candler and Blanche Turner Sorrells. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, animal lover, and a member of the Comer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” W. Pendleton; and a daughter, Robin Pendleton.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 8, from the Comer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hugh Hendrickson officiating. Burial was at Comer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Patton, John Harrover, Ronald Pendleton, William Pendleton, Eric Harrover, Doug Patton and Randy Conner. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Porterfield and Calvin Smith.
Memorials may be made to the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
