Lillian Manley Gordon, 91, of Baldwin, formerly of Toccoa, died Friday, August 8, 2008, at a private care facility.
She was born on March 4, 1917, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Gilmore and Mary Aby Bryant Manley. She was a member of the Zebulon Baptist Church and was a seamstress. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Garland; and sister, Ethlyn Chatham.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ed Taylor, Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, James and Barbara Gordon, Altoona, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Tom Wells, Ft. Mill, S.C.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 10, at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian James officiating. Burial was in the Zebulon Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Ed Taylor officiating.
Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, was in charge of arrangements.
