Royce Adkins (5-3-11)

MAYSVILLE – Royce Junior Adkins, 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.

Born in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., he was the son of the late Elbert and Edith Adkins. Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by a son, Roger Adkins.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Inez Adkins, Maysville; children, Ronnie (Connie) Adkins, Cumming, and Elaine (Patrick) Ewalt, Maysville; stepsons, Bobby Bennett, Oxford, and Steve Bennett, Cornelia; brothers, M.C. Adkins, Cumming, and Durrell Adkins, Flowery Branch; sisters, Melba Wells, Ellijay, and Inez Mills, Conyers; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m., from the Lighthouse Congregational Holiness Church in Commerce with the Revs. Winfred Bingham and Jerry Hewatt officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, May 6, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce.
