COMMERCE – Brenda Joyce Chandler Duncan, 67, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Winford and Mary Irene Shope Chandler. Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in February of this year, Edward Thomas “Tommy” Duncan.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Duncan (Kyle Parker) Embrick, Gainesville; grandchildren, Jenny Swain (John Stanley), Kristin (Jeremy) Acree, Kevin (Maggie Broome) Embrick, Lindsay Embrick; great-grandchildren, Bralynn Stanley, Cameron Stanley and Madi-Grace Acree.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 1, from the Canaan Baptist Church on Homestead Road with the Revs. David Strickland and Donald Wilson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
