JEFFERSON – Ruth Whitehead Jacks, 84, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, following a period of declining health.
Born on February 4, 1927, in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Ludie Martin Whitehead. She was retired from Big Star Foods as a manager with over 26 years of service and was a member of Galilee Christian Church. Mrs. Jacks was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jacks.
Survivors include daughters, Dianne (Dale) Quinn, Loganville, and Debbie (Sammy) Payne, Jefferson; son, Steve (Pat) Jacks, Newnan; sister, Barbara Rowland, Jefferson; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Reynolds and Donny Merritt officiating. Burial will be at Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 25, from 6 to 9 p.m.
