HULL - Aletha Rebecca Vinson LaCount, 83, died Thursday, April 21, 2011.
Born in Macon County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred Hampton and Pearl Dowdle Vinson. She lived most of her adult life in the Athens area and was a longtime member of the Athens Antique Car Club. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Gainesville. Mrs. LaCount was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas LaCount (1970); a son, Jimmy Vernon LaCount (1966); and brother, Don Vinson.
Survivors include her daughters, Becky (Ricky) Vinson, Hull, Rita Whitehead, Danielsville, Lynn (Norm) Kluesner, Adel, Norma (Ken) Bonner, Athens, and June (John) Guest, Carlton; siblings, Jessie Roberts, Athens, Lucille Green, Williamson, Fritz Vinson, Dillard, Wilton Vinson, Prattville, Ala., Selma Green, Stephens, and Betty Dewberry, Breman; six grandsons; five granddaughters; four great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with the Revs. Greg Worley, Gary Wilson and John Guest officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ricky Vinson, Ken Bonner, Norm Kluesner, John Guest, Steven Vinson, Cody Culbertson, Andy Culbertson, Joseph Culbertson, Dustin Dean and Paul Mullinax.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
