WINDER – Lavern T. Smith, 87, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011.
Born in Clarke County, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Odell and Pearl Brewer Todd. She was a member of the Christian Life Worship Center in Athens. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Smith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Marcia Smith, Winder; daughters, Frances Smith and Eva Elder, both of Winder; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Annie Lee Woods, Athens.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 21, from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Brian Williams officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
