Betty White (4-18-11)

BALDWIN - Betty Ward White, 80, died on Monday, April 18, 2011.

Born on March 7, 1931, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Grace Caudell Ward. Mrs. White was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joe White. She was formerly employed with Carwood Manufacturing and Grady Garment Company. She was a homemaker and was involved with the Head Start Program in Banks County. Mrs. White was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Baldwin.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Joe E. White, Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Shannon White, Baldwin; sisters, Lurlene Payne, Baldwin, and Ruby Meeler, Cornelia; brother, Charles Ward, Mt. Airy; and two grandchildren, Jessica White and Erica White.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with David Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim House officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at the funeral home.
