Grace Whitley (4-10-11)

MONROE - Grace Smith Whitley, 89, died Sunday, April 10, 2011.

A native of Walton County, she was a longtime member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and as a member of the choir. She was employed by Southeastern Garment Company in Monroe, which became Oxford Industries. She retired after 40 years of service.
Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Whitley.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lucy Whitley, Winder, Jim and Brenda Whitley, Bogart, Charles and Marluce Whitley, Monroe; grandchildren, Bill Whitley Jr., Lee Whitley Canup, James B. Whitley, Christopher Whitley, Shawn Whitley, Michael Tomes, Adam Thompson, Larissa Batista; great-grandson, Jackson Canup; sisters Ann Price and Dot Hunter; and brother Glenn Smith.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Moon officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.
