Joyce Aikens (4-17-11)

NICHOLSON - Joyce Barrett Aikens, 66, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at her residence.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Lola Robinson Barrett. She was retired from Wayne Poultry. Mrs. Aikens was preceded in death by her husband, James Aikens.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ricky Alexander, Nicholson; brothers, Junior Barrett, Colbert, Billy Barrett, Gillsville, and J.C. Barrett, Commerce; sisters, Juanita Dalton, Colbert, Jerry Williamson, Maysville, and Bonnie Huth, Hull; grandchildren, Jennifer Maxwell, Jessica Woodall and C.J. Woodall.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelby Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
