FLOWERY BRANCH – Gilbert P. Witsell, 73, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at his residence.
He graduated from Culver Military Academy in Culver, Ind., and received his BSBA degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. He took an active role in the Parkinson’s Action Network and was Congressional Coordinator for Georgia District 9, along with being an active member of the Lake County Shakers Parkinson’s support group.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Gene Witsell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and David Dusse, Carolyn and Bob Benson and Katherine and Dave Pappas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Leigh and Ethel Witsell.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home South with Deacon Ken Lanpert officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home.
