FLOWERY BRANCH - Ted E. Thrasher, 80, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Marshall County, Ala., he was the son of the late Luther Thomas and Eulas Mae (Jackson) Thrasher. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and the Whosoever Will Sunday School Class. Mr. Thrasher was preceded in death by his four brothers, Dean, Billy, Byron and Hobert Thrasher; and four sisters, Evelyn McCray, Peggy Aldridge, Wynola Hudson and Lilyen Goble.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Fayrene (Mayo) Thrasher, Flowery Branch; sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Ricky Thrasher and Janet Smith Thrasher, Flowery Branch; Steve and Carol Thrasher, Lawrenceville; Tim and Karen Pattillo Thrasher, Gainesville; David and Karen A. Thrasher, Flowery Branch; son, Greg Thrasher, Flowery Branch; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Rossi Wood, Altoona, Ala.; sister-in-laws, Frances Reed, Braselton; Gwen England, Homer; and Audrey Goble, Blountsville, Ala.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W.C and Charlotte Mayo, Brookton; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 10, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. David Matthews, Ricky Thrasher and Ben Wallis officiated.
