‘Chuck’ Finch (4-07-11)

REDSTONE COMMUNITY – Charles Wendell “Chuck” Finch, 71, died Thursday, April 7, 2011.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Hoke Smith and Nancy Corine Shields Finch. He was a member of the Redstone United Methodist Church, retired after 32 years of service from ABB Inc., in Athens, and was a veteran having served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca A. Finch, Redstone Community; daughters, Wendi Finch, Athens and Jennifer Finch (Mitch) Collins, Redstone Community; stepsons, John Barry Sims, Savannah and Robert Lee Sims, Statham; grandchildren, Janie Johnson, Jacob Collins, Cassy Collins; and step-grandchildren, Rebecca Sims and Tyler Sims.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 10, from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Carpenter and Lee Shipp officiating. A private family interment will be at Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
