JEFFERSON – Leroy “Boss” Davidson, 76, formerly of Munford, Ala., died at his residence, Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
Born May 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Tom and Mattie Lou Ingram Davidson. He loved the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing and riding in the mountains with his wife, Agnes. He was a big fan of the Jefferson baseball, softball and basketball teams, the West Jackson softball team and the Munford High School athletic programs. He ran the concession stand program for the Munford Quarterback Club for several years and was a lifetime member of the Munford High School Quarterback Club and Big Oak Hunting Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Joseph, Adam, Alicia, Sabrina, Abby and Branson.
He was a man of honor and integrity. If he said something it was the honest truth and if he made a promise, he did it. He was a wonderful husband, father and son. He had a great sense of humor and loved practical jokes. His life was full and his stories entertaining. His smile, stories and laugh will be greatly missed, loved one stated. Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Sexton Davidson; and brother, Nathaniel Davidson.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Vicki Davidson, Pendergrass; daughter and son-in-law, Lawanna and Ronnie Laird, Jefferson; grandchildren, Alicia and L.J. Querry, Sabrina and Abby Davidson, Joseph Laird and Chessie Archer and Adam Laird and Sarah Pippin; great-grandson, Branson Davidson; sisters, Tommie Brown, Weaver, Ala. and Valorie Grainger, Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Sue Davidson, Gainesville; sister-in-law, Nancy Davidson, Clarksville, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Bobby and Guyrene Sexton, Billy and Helen Sexton, all of Gainesville and Jimmy and Linda Sexton, Jefferson.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 8, from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m.
