Lutrell Gipson Wilson, 93, of Cornelia, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Habersham County Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County on January 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Sarah Ledford Gipson. She enjoyed crocheting, canning and anything involving crafts, loved ones stated. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Burke; sons-in-law, Pat Bowen and John Burke; sisters, Estell Parson and Ethel Slaton; brothers, Earl F. Gipson, Earnest D. Gipson, Dillard N. Gipson and M.D. Gipson; and a great-grandson, Sean Bollinger.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Bowen, Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Anita Wilson, Gainesville; sisters, Ruby Lee Owensby, California, and Annie Bertha Shubert, Commerce; brother, George Dewey Gipson, Batesville; grandchildren, Patrick Bowen, Lynn Goss, Belinda Baragona, Bonnie Bollinger, Marisa Dale, Peggy Roach, Sandy Burke, John Burke Jr., Keith Dodgins and Debra Hall; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Wethington officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Maxey Ladd officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.
