CLEVELAND – Stephen Talmadge Weese, 77, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family after succumbing to lung cancer.
Born in Cherokee County on February 4, 1934, he was the son of Ruby and Lewis Weese. He was an accomplished Master Carpenter, Thirty-Second Degree Shriner and a past Master of the Gwinnett Daylight Masonic Lodge No. 744. He was a highly respected and sought after construction superintendent during his career and was responsible for numerous large successful building projects.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Hurston Weese; children, Sandra Petzelt and husband Phil, Terry Weese and wife Sheila, Patty Minkina and husband Ed, Kimberly Dietrick and husband Mark, Karole Davis and husband Steve Jackson, Kelly Johnson and husband Thomas; grandchildren, Jeff Weese, Sarah Cole, Stevie Hurst, Cody Minkina, Eli Bell, Hunter Bell, Andrew Weese, Henrietta Davis, James Johnson, Joshua Johnson and Enoch Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Weese, Wyatt Weese and Reed Weese.
There will be no funeral service as was Steve’s wish.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.
