DANIELSVILLE – George Tommy Collins Sr., 71, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at the St. Mary’s Hospice House.
Born in Kannapolis, N.C., on February 13, 1940, he was the son of the late George D. Collins Sr. and Ruth Tate Collins. He was a retired warehouse worker having worked with Dairy Pak and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Sorrow Collins, Danielsville; sons, Richard Collins, Jefferson, George T. Collins Jr., Comer, and Michael Estes, Lavonia; daughters, Becky Eubanks, Hull, Rhonda Chambers, Clayton, and Wanda McMullen, Lilburn; stepsons, Steve Looney, Oglethorpe County, and Keith Looney, Comer; brothers, Kenneth Collins, Kansas, and Charles Collins, Danielsville; sisters, Charlotte Bond and Sherry Crawford, both of Danielsville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Wills and Glenn Guest officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Danielsville.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. The family is at home.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
