Gordon Greenwood (3-26-10)

HOSCHTON - Gordon E. Greenwood, 85, died Saturday, March 26, 2011.

A native of Franklin, N.C., he was the son of the late William and Nellie Ora Smith Greenwood. Mr. Greenwood was preceded in death by a brother, George Greenwood. He was a member of Alcovy Baptist Church and was a United States Navy Veteran, where he served as a Seabee. He was a retiree of General Motors.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Greenwood, Hoschton; children, Jerry Greenwood, Hiawassee, Tommy Greenwood, Monroe, David Greenwood, Hoschton, Jennifer Sanders, Chicago, Ill., Janet Skinner, Winder, and Lawrence Greenwood, Jefferson; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Anderson, Buford.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, with the Revs. Darrell Skinner and Le Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Alcovy Baptist Church Cemetery.
