Inez Parr (3-27-11)

COMMERCE – Inez Murray Thompson Parr, 96, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at BJC Nursing Home.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Ouida Arlue and Effie Hart Murray. She had worked at Blue Bell and Commerce Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church and attended Calvary Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Parr was preceded in death by her first husband, John Quillian Thompson; husband, the Rev. Leroy Parr; son, John Aubrey Thompson; seven sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Corrie Sue Thomas, Martin; sons, Harold Thompson, Ila, and Nelson Edward Thompson, Commerce; sisters, Barbara Evans, Danielsville, and Dellie Cowart, Commerce; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Hull Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
