Margaret Mathis

Margaret Mathis, 82, of Winder, died Monday, May 19, 2008.

She was born in Barrow County, the daughter of the late Hiram S. and Stella Edwards McDaniel. Her first job was at Carwood Manufacturing Company and she retired from Cherokee after many years. She was a member of Dove Creek Holiness Church. Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her husband, Jerdine L. Mathis.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby L. and Stacey Mathis, Baldwin; grandchildren, Kim Greeson, Michael Mathis, Tammy Gee, Pennie Mathis and Dustin Mathis; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial was at Barrow Memorial Gardens.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
