COMMERCE – Michael Leon Pitts, 65, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.
Born in Gadsden, Ala., he was the son of the late H.W. and Lorene Campbell Pitts. Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Ronnie Robinson, Arkansas; grandsons, Nicholas Robinson, Nathan Robinson and James Shook; his partner of 28 years, Jo-Ann Short, Commerce; and a stepdaughter, Mary Jo Watson, Maysville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 25, at 11 a.m., for a time of reflection. However, no memorial service, as such, is scheduled.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
