Margaret Aker (3-22-01)

JEFFERSON – Margaret J. Aker, 78, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Garnett and Dennie Rucker Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Aker was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Aker.

Survivors include brothers, Johnny Williams and Willie A. Williams, both of Commerce; sisters, Annie J. Hargrove, Gladys Pierce, Frances Strickland and Linda Jackson, all of Commerce.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, at 1 p.m., from the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. W.R. Brown and Kenneth Sims officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 25, from 5 to 7 p.m.
