HULL – Lois B. Aiken, 101, died Monday, March 21, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Carrie Holcomb and John Glenn Brown. She was a member of Hull Baptist church for over 90 years and was currently the oldest member. She was also active in Sunday School and Women’s Missionary Union. She worked for over 40 years with her husband in Aiken’s Grocery Store and Service Station. Mrs. Aiken was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Aiken; a grandson, David Aiken; brothers, Paul, Coile, Curtis and James Brown; and sisters, Ollie Patton and Frances Bond.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William G. (Billy) and Darleen Aiken; grandson and wife, Tom A. and Jennifer Aiken; great-grandchildren, Brook and Cody Aiken and Jessica Walker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 3 p.m., from Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 22, from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Hull Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the White Dove Personal Care Home, including Judy, Nell and Rhonda, as well as Mrs. Aiken’s hospice nurses.
