RAYLE – Hilda Annette Johnson, 77, died Friday, March 18, 2011, at her residence.
Born in Washington, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Leonard Sanford and Mamie Elizabeth Callaway King. She was retired from AAFES after 15 years of service and was a homemaker. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Robert Charles Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Lee Johnson; children, Teresa Ann Doolin, Goose Creek, S.C., Sherrie Smith, Jefferson, and Heidi Tidwell, Rayle; brother, Gerald King, Martinez; sister, Eunice Prince, Thomason; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, at 2 p.m., from the Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe chapel with Chaplain Hugh Minor officiating. Burial will be at Clark Cemetery, Lexington, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
