BRASELTON - Douglas W. Cotter, 77, died Thursday, March 17, 2011.
He was the son of the late Bernard Wilson and Julia Lamb Cotter. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Motorola, Inc. after 35 years of service. He coached Little League Baseball and Basketball for 11 years. He was a member of the Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula. Mr. Cotter was preceded in death by a brother, Reginald Edwin Cotter. His family was his life, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elise Wilkins Cotter, Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Christina Elizabeth and Jon Carroll, Sugar Hill; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Wayne Cotter Jr. and wife, Alice, Cumming, and Grady Bernard Cotter and wife, Dawn, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Christina Elise Carroll, Robert Grady Carroll, Douglas Wayne Cotter III, Robert Chandler McMahan Cotter, Sarah Elizabeth Carroll, Bailey Denise Cotter and Abigail Ruth Cotter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m., from the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor David Davis officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. C.S.T. at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Ala. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
