Charles Hardy (3-14-11)

JEFFERSON – Charles F. Hardy, 75, died Monday, March 14, 2011.

He was the son of the late Frank Gobel and Margaret Bright Hardy. He loved music and played both the guitar and fiddle. He was retired from Jackson County, where he was a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Hardy; and a sister, Carrie “Mildred” Hamilton.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Hardy, Manning, S.C.; daughters, Judy Cunningham, Jefferson, Brenda “Janie” McEver, Dawsonville, and Mary Sue Banister, Carnesville; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Hardy, Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, at 11 a.m., from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.
