Ruth Scroggs (3-11-11)

MAYSVILLE – Ruth Savage Scroggs, 91, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.

Born in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Lillie Mae Truelove Savage. Mrs. Scroggs was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Scroggs; and daughters, Hazel Hamilton and Brenda Howard.

Survivors include a son, James T. “Jim” Scroggs, Maysville; a daughter, Shirley Elaine Crane, Thomasville, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 14, from the Holly Hill Memorial Cemetery located at 401 W. Holly Hill Road in Thomasville, NC 27360, with the Rev. Stanley Savage officiating.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
