COMER – Wayne Adams Brown, 68, died Thursday, March 10, 2011.
He was the son of the late Curtis Andrew and Alva Alleen Adams Brown. He was a native of Elbert County and was a member of the Comer Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon as well. He was retired from Georgia Power after 42 years of service and was currently employed with Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office as a bailiff. He was a part-time security guard with the Madison County Courthouse.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marion Seymour Brown; children, Lari Scarborough, Freda Atkinson (Jeff), David Brown (Kasie); sisters, Jean Scarborough, Annette Bond and Sandra Andrew; and grandchildren, Ethan Scarborough, Jacob Scarborough and Travis Atkinson.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 13, from the Comer Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Burial was in the Comer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ethan Scarborough, Jacob Scarborough, Travis Atkinson, Don Glenn, Bryan Andrew, Jim Burch and Robert Chandler.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Comer Baptist Church Building Fund.
Brown Chapel, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
