HOSCHTON - Samuel Frazer Ward, 64, Hoschton business owner, died Monday, March 7, 2011, in Gainesville.
Born in Athens, he was the son of Stella M. Seagraves and Lelus G. Ward.
Throughout his life he wove his skill in construction with his restaurant management expertise. He launched his
restaurant career at the Key in Athens and later opened Brandy’s. He also managed establishments on Jekyll Island. In 2001 he saw his opening of The Coach Tavern and later Peckers Restaurant. He renovated a number of historic buildings in Hoschton.
Survivors include a son, Tony E. Ward, Hoschton; and siblings, Sharon Booth, Ann Towler, Garnett Ward and Malcolm Ward.
His life will be celebrated by family and friends at his restaurant patio, 39 City Square, Hoschton, on Sunday, March 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. The restaurant’s website www.eatatpeckers.com will contain details.
