COLBERT – Grace Hoover Prather, 91, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Paul and Stella Hoover. She graduated from Georgia State College for Women and taught school in Jasper and Colbert. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of the Danielsville congregation. Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frazer Prather.
Survivors include daughters, Virginia (Leslie) Sorrow, Athens, Emily (Dewitt) Smith, Watkinsville, Mary Ann (Dennis) Simmons, Colbert, and Sally (Bruce) Simmons, Marked Tree, Ark.; a son, Paul (Rebekah), Colbert; and grandchildren, Lana and Tyler Simmons.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Danielsville, Private burial will be in the Eberhart Cemetery on the Prather family farm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
