Virgil Hudson Jr. (3-3-11)

ATHENS – Virgil Edward Hudson Jr., 38, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at his residence.

Born in Athens, he was the son of Patsy Marie Hudson of Colbert and Virgil Edward Hudson Sr. of Athens. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady Bradshaw and Hassie and Curtis Hudson.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Darla J. Hudson, Comer; children, Katlin Harvey, Oconee County, and Dalton Chaz Hudson, Comer; siblings, Jennifer Hudson, Crystal Coile and Paula Hudson, all of Athens, Paul Hudson, Oconee County; maternal grandmother, Vera Bradshaw, Hull; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Madison County Chapel, located at 42 Booger Hill Rd., Danielsville, with the Rev. Tim Boswell officiating. Burial will be in the Colbert City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ivie Funeral Home, Madison County, is in charge of arrangements.
