MAYSVILLE – Nomie Lee Carter, 80, died early Wednesday morning, March 2, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Morgan and Rilla Ingram Sorrow. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, D.S. Carter Jr.; and granddaughters, Heather Fowler and Joy Fowler Malner.
Survivors include daughters, June Brock and Susan Davis, both of Maysville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, at 11 a.m., at the Grove with the Revs. John Wood and Tommy Hefferman officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times at the residence located at 1497 Yarbrough-Ridgeway Rd. in Maysville.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
