DANIELSVILLE – Hubert Fowler, 80, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
He was a native of Madison County and was the son of the late Jobe and Cordell Fowler. He was preceded in death by his wife of more then 50 years, Gertie Mae Phillips Fowler; a sister, Ruth Burgess; and two brothers, Herbert and Herman Fowler.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Rickey Oglesby, Dewy Rose, and Karin and Thomas Morris, Colbert; three grandsons and spouses, Rodney and Becky Oglesby, Todd and Christy Morris and Brad and Jill Morris; three great-grandchildren, Carley, Zachary and Griffin Morris; a sister, Polly Leon, Lavonia; and brother, Don Fowler, Anderson, S.C.
He was a wonderful and devoted husband and father. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was loved by many that knew him and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Phil Parks and Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family is at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Redeemed Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1113, Commerce, GA 30529.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
