John Kenneth Wilbanks, Jr., 51, of Braselton, died Sunday, August 3, 2008.
He was born on July 6, 1957, in Barrow County, the son of the late John Wilbanks Sr. and Doris Samantha Gooch Wilbanks. He was a machinist for Harland Clarke for 30 years. Mr. Wilbanks was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Lea Wilbanks.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Michelle Turner and Shanna Wilbanks, all of Braselton, Lisa and Scott Grant, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Cindy Wilbanks, Braselton; brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Monica Wilbanks, Arcade; grandchildren, Daniel, McNeely, Chadler and Baby Grant Wilbanks; niece, Ashley Wilbanks; and nephew, Michael Wilbanks.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, at 3 p.m., in the New Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jamie Prickett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

John and I graduated high school together, rode the school bus to school and were good friends for many years. He was a wonderful person with a great dry sense of humor. Kenneth and Doris were also good friends of my family. John will be missed so much by so many. Farewell dear friend, I'll see you on the other side.
