James Edwin King, 67, of Royston, died Friday, August 1, 2008, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
He was born in Franklin County on April 12, 1941, the son of the late James Fred and Mary Elizabeth Haynes King. He was a supervisor, having worked with Royston Corporation, and was Baptist. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry King.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Phillips-King, Royston; a son, Nelson King, Atlanta; daughter, Rebecca Cannon, Commerce; step-daughters, Tammy Hart and Tina Phillips, both of Royston; brother, Bill King, Royston; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 4, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Synan officiating. Burial was in the Cary Memorial Gardens.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
