TUCKER – Gail Cook Sehr, 67, died Saturday, February 19, 2011.
Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late J.D. and Zara Strickland Cook. She was a retired labor and delivery nurse. She received her nursing degree from Grady and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Emory.
Those who knew Gail knew her loves were her husband, her daughter, the beach, flip flops, football and fishing. With the birth of her grandchildren, Ethan and Madison, she started a new phase of her life as a grandmother when she became affectionately known as Gami.
She loved her soul mate of 52 years, Terry, more than life itself. She taught her daughter, Tara, what it meant to be a woman and a mother.
Although she battled a difficult illness in her later years, she fought the battle with the same determination, grace and positive energy that she was known for her entire life.
Honey, you will be missed as my wife.
Mom, you will be missed as my mother.
Gami, you will be missed as Ethan and Madison Gail’s grandmother.
WE LOVE YOU!!
Survivors include her husband, Terry L. Sehr; a daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Rusty Mote, Marietta; grandchildren, Ethan and Madison Mote; sisters, Elaine Hardigree, Snellville, and Beth Maranville, Seattle, Wash.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 22, at 11 a.m., from Barrow Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Al Garvin officiating.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
