Blanche Underwood Kinney, 72, of Pendergrass, died Monday, May 19, 2008.
She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Stella Mae Culpepper Underwood.
She was a retired secretary with the Georgia-Tennessee Supply Company after 32 years of service; and was a former Employee of the Year with Gainesville College.
She was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and also attended Talmo Baptist Church and the Flea Market Church. Mrs. Kinney was preceded in death by brothers, Johnny Underwood, Jimmy Underwood; and a nephew, Greg Beck.
She was a loving mother to her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She sought people to minister to and served as a volunteer with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Association for many years, loved ones stated.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Clelle Kinney, Pendergrass; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and John Cody, Jefferson; sister and special friend, Shirley Channell and Otis Childs, Athens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Linda Underwood and Charles and Jan Underwood, all of Talmo, Harry and Sheila Underwood, Pendergrass; nieces and nephews, Joy Godfrey, Kathy Underwood, Julie Moore, John Underwood, Dawn Cody, Scott Cody, Judy Pearson, Jennifer Underwood and Todd Underwood.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, at Talmo Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Doster, Joe Hardy, and Dr. Mark Spence officiating. Burial was in the Mountain Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Underwood, Harry Underwood, Charles Underwood, James Deaton, Radford Murphy and Lloyd Craven.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
