Thomas Maxwell Gulley Jr., 86, of Royston, died Sunday, August 3, 2008, at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Born in Elbert County on October 3, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas Maxwell Gulley Sr. and Lila Adams Batchlor Gulley. He was a retired truck driver, a retired farmer, and was a member of the Van’s Creek Baptist Church. A brother, Aubrey Gulley, preceded him in death. Mr. Gulley was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Stratton Gulley, Royston; sons, Kenny M. Gulley and Fanny Gulley, both of Royston; daughters, Phyllis Beasley, Stillmore, and Charlotte Anderson, Royston; a sister, Amy Phillips, Hartwell; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 5, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Green officiating. Burial was in the Van’s Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
